P55 Pressure Transducer

The Validyne model P66 is a digital differential pressure transmitter designed for industrial pressure measurement applications. Communication via CAN Bus provides remote zero and span adjustment as well as digital pressure readings in engineering units or pressure counts. The P66 provides digital readings directly in engineering units of psi or inches of water column.
The P895 is designed for a wide variety of pressure measurements where high resistance to vibration and superior stability through temperature change is required. The zero and full-scale output calibrations are set by the potentiometer adjustments accessible from the top cover.

The Universal Data Acquisition System(UDAS) Sensor Interface provides real world data acquisition for your PC via the USB port. 16 sensor inputs in any mix or combination are accepted by the UDAS. No external signal conditioning is required. The UDAS includes configuration and data acquisition software. Thermocouples, RTDs, strain gages, LVDTs, potentiometers, VR sensors and low-level DC voltages are wired directly to the USB terminals in any mix or combination of single-ended or differential input types. All required excitation, amplification and linearization is provided by the UDAS. No additional equipment is required.

Engine Air Filter Drop
Diesel and gasoline engines require a lot of air as part of the internal combustion process. Anyone who has lifted the hood on their automobile knows that the air coming into a vehicle engine is filtered to keep out road dust and grit from entering the engine cylinders. All vehicles have an air filter for this purpose and these are commonly made of a paper filtration material, are housed in a plastic or metal can, and can be opened easily for filter replacement.
When automobile doors are closed it is expected that the sealing surfaces around the edges of the door will contact the frame properly so that the passenger cabin is weatherproof and the inside protected from rain and water. With all the different styles of doors, frames and gasket materials each new model must be tested to verify that the sealing system is effective.
Does synthetic oil reduce bearing wear? Do gasoline additives really improve combustion? These questions are investigated in a special laboratory known as an engine test cells. There are many pressure measurements needed on an engine: oil pressure, exhaust pressure, coolant pressures and any number of emission pressure measurements. Pressure transducers must be protected from the ambient environment of the test cell and still provide useful signals to a data acquisition system.
